However the final call is yours to take, I hope you will make a wise decision. I have given you my conclusions and my recommendations. But if you still want to go ahead with the same you can do that but you might get some issues while or after repackaging.

Repackaging - Well being in this area for almost 9 years,an ACP (Altiris Certified Professional) and reading various articles from Microsoft and Bob Kelly's (author of App deploy) whitepapers it is SERIOUSLY NOT recommended to capture a device driver installation.

Use Microsoft's DIF-X to install the drivers but this will not install the software, here is the link to DIF-X ĥ. If you want I can provide you with some scripts that would be some help to you in this regard.Ĥ. Incase you fail in step 1 and 2 above then make an autoit script with the hidden command line that I wrote in my msg earlier, this will just allow the setup pop-ups to flicker for a second and then they will disappear (I also do the same when we don't get help from any where as some setups are not created for enterprise use).
Try to contact Epson for more options on this setup or for makepackage.exe utility or any other help that they can provide you to make this package silent (my team also does the same when we are stuck in an issue like this ).ģ. Contact Epson or look for vendor documentation which can tell you about making this setup silent (I agree with aogilmor here!)Ģ. Well coming to the point here are your options:ġ.

The major issue with colour negs is the orange mask A hint: There is software called ColorPerfect that claims to deal with this, but I haven't had time to test it yet. Thanks for giving me the package source, I have gone through the same and found that this package is created by Epson's own utility which is called "Makepackage.exe" Please check if you have this utility given to you in a CD or otherwise because if you have the utility you can modify the setup and even make it silent. I'm about to begin testing colour negs, but it will probably be months before I have time to report results as I have a lot of things happening. I haven't been in a hurry to pursue it because I've had acceptable results with my V700. It's been a number of years, but I have also tested black and white negatives with DSLRs on a small scale. A higher end scanner will still produce somewhat better results in some cases, so suitability depends on your intended use of the images. I've also had very good success digitizing slides with digital SLRs. It has very good adjustments, overall better than Vuescan, and is more much more useable for batch scanning. However, I prefer Epson Scan for Epson flatbeds. Note that for a couple of big projects (5000 or more images) I found it worthwhile to cut colour negs as individual frames and put them in slide mounts to facilitate scanning with SF200/210 slide feeders. Vuescan produced better quality than Nikon's scanner drivers, although it was somewhat fiddly to set up. I've done some very large scanning projects with Vuescan running Nikon film scanners equipped with bulk slide feeders. Need to find a way to do this efficiently.Vuescan works quite well in some applications, particularly for older scanners that lack drivers for current operating systems.
even if it means trying "scanning" with the DSLR. I'm determined to make this work one way or the other. I'm going to go back to the Epson software here and see if that helps streamline. I installed the epson software and then bought VueScan on the advice of a friend.
